'Sunday League side' - Watford fans vent fury after Nottingham Forest display

Watford fans have been venting their anger after their performance against Nottingham Forest.

Chasing an instant return to the Premier League, the Reds held the Hornets to a goalless draw which has at least given Chris Hughton's side something positive to build on.

But Watford fans are concerned about their team's performances on the road and fear it could harm their bid to win automatic promotion.

And last night's display at the City Ground did not ease those fears with some Watford fans bemoaning the quality of the performance as they failed to capitalise on the Reds' sluggish start to the season.

Here's what they had to say on Twitter.

Omar Moore: Disgrace. Totally embarrassing. And Forest actually bossed much of the second half. We could have easily lost tonight and shouldve been down to 10 men. A wasted opportunity to top the table. We settle too much for draws on the road. We must be more attack-minded

Ryan Sear: Forest, Wycombe, Barnsley, QPR and Sheff Wed. We've gone cautious and ended up lucky not to lose, picked up 4/15 points away. That's pathetic. Literally looked like a Sunday league side tonight, never seen us give the ball away and pass so poorly before.

Alex Cooper: Abject performance. How can we go from a strong performance against Preston to one shot on target against Forest .

Dylan Shah: An away point at Forest but disappointed not to get a goal or win tonight. Was a poor game to watch. Hope they play better on Saturday with the 2000 fans.

Hornet Shane: A point gained I guess but that was a tepid performance against a turgid Forest side. Kiko was the big standout for me, Troy did his duties well enough but should have scored late on. Pedro and Sarr looked off it, crosses were all poor."

The point that Forest gained kept them in the bottom four of the Championship but a win away at Reading who have slipped down the table after being the early pacesetters could take them away from danger.

Watford, meanwhile, are third.
