'Sunday is massive' - Jurgen Klopp sent Liverpool message after Manchester United go top

Liverpool fans have been giving their reaction after Manchester United moved to the top of the Premier League table.

Jurgen Klopp 's men began the day at the summit, just ahead of United on goal difference.

The Red Devils had a game in hand, though, which they played against Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday night.

It was a tight contest but United ultimately edged to a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Paul Pogba's 71st-minute strike.

The result saw them leapfrog Liverpool to go three points clear at the top of the table.

However, the reigning champions have a chance to pull level with their old rivals this weekend, when the two sides go head-to-head at Anfield on Sunday.

United's win at Burnley brought the challenge facing Liverpool into sharp focus for supporters on social media.

One Reds fan said on Twitter that it was "the perfect time to fire back", adding: "I'm glad United have taken top spot, the Reds will fight."

Another tweeted: "Well that result makes things simple, we must win on Sunday."

Meanwhile, a third supporter posted: "Let them have their three minutes at the top of the league - (will) make it more sweeter when we claim it back Sunday."

While United went above Liverpool, Everton are now only one point behind their neighbours after winning 2-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are now fourth in the table, just behind third-placed Leicester City on goal difference.
