Sunday Game returns this weekend with special guest GAA President John Horan

The Ireland championships were due to really kick into gear with a full schedule of hurling and football action across all provincial championships this weekend before the coronavirus pandemic got in the way.

But despite there being no GAA played in almost two months and none planned until later this year, RTE's Sunday Game is back this weekend.

Des Cahill will be at hand to host, and with no action to analyse, the show will look back on some recent classics and also cast an eye on the future of the games in uncertain times.

And GAA President John Horan is lined up as a special guest in a star-studded show for starved fans.

The GAA chief will be joined by Sunday Game regulars Cyrill Farrell and Anthony Daly as they analyse Clare and Galway's thrilling 2018 All-Ireland semi-finals.

In football, it's a look back at one of the great Dublin and Mayo collisions in the form of the 2017 All-Ireland final.

Dubs legend Ciaran Whelan will digest the game alongside Mayo's manager in that game, Stephen Rochford.

The Sunday Game airs this Sunday on RTÉ Two and the RTÉ Player at 9:30pm.
