Sunday Game panel united in believing Dublin's John Small should have been sent off for challenge on Eoghan McLaughlin

The Sunday Game panel were united in believing that Dublin's John Small should have seen red for his challenge on Mayo's Eoghan McLaughlin in Saturday's All-Ireland semi-final.

Small's collision with McLaughlin went unpunished by referee Conor Lane much to the ire of Mayo boss James Horan and their supporters.

McLaughlin had to be stretchered off the pitch following the incident and it has since been revealed that he suffered a double jaw fracture.

And according to the Sunday Game panel - Kerry legend Colm Cooper, former Mayo player Kevin McStay and Armagh great Oisin McConville - it was the wrong call.

McStay, who initially judged it a fair challenge when commentating on the match in real time for RTE, admitted that he called it wrongly and made a u-turn.
