Popular vegetarian restaurant in Bristol announces closures

Bosses of a popular plant-based restaurant have announced tonight (Thursday) they will not be re-opening - at least for now.

Sharing the news on social media, Suncraft's chiefs thanked their "lovely regulars" and urged people to "support Bristol independents".

During a short Facebook post, they hinted that the much-loved venue, which was based on Gloucester Road, could return in the future.

"We'll not be re-opening Suncraft in its current location," the post read.

"Thank you to all who've supported - staff, suppliers and our lovely regulars.

"For now, we're grateful for our health, the good times & hopeful for the future. Please continue to support Bristol independents... See you again soon."

Dozens of people voiced their disappointment at the news.

The Koocha team wrote: "No! So sorry to hear this.

"Hope you guys get set up elsewhere soon! I will miss my Suncraft lunch breaks immensely."

While a customer wrote: "Such sad news. Hope you manage to resurrect Suncraft one day soon."

Someone else said: "Gutted. Your food is amazing and the vibe was always welcoming. A real loss for Gloucester road."

The restaurant, which offered plant-based Asian food, opened in 2018 and has been a huge hit with Bristol's ever-growing vegan community.
