As the BBC plans massive cutbacks, the Sun has put the boot in by revealing that the corporation spent £1.5m on plants, trees and, er, grass over a five-year period. Tory MP Philip Davies provided the requisite quote about the BBC having "so much money it barely knows what to spend it on" as the corporation's defence bemoans that it has 450 properties to furnish with pot plants and the like.
