Summer target can't stop scoring as Nottingham Forest wonder what might have been

Simon Terodde was one of many players linked with Nottingham Forest in the summer when German outlet Bild maintained that the Reds' interest in the forward was genuine.

But the move didn't happen as the striker sealed a move to Hamburg on a free transfer and his form has been nothing short of sensational.

Terodde has bagged eight goals in six games which has left Hamburg five points clear at the top of Bundesleiga 2 with  his exploits winning plenty  of acclaim.

Crucially, Terodde has only signed a one-year deal at Hamburg meaning he could be available to the Reds once again.

But German legend Uwe Seeler, who scored 404 goals in 476 games for Hamburg,  is hoping that is not the case.

"I hope HSV is smart enough to secure him (on a long-term contract),”   he said.

“As it is with all good players, you have to look after them. I think Simon is sensational.

“He has a very special nose for goalscoring chances. This certain talent cannot be learned. You are born with it.

“He moves in the penalty area as smoothly as a cat. He sneaks around, gets lost in the sight of the enemy and then suddenly strikes.”
