Summer storms warning for upper Thailand

The Meteorological Department Tuesday warned of thunderstorms and hail in the North, Northeast, Central Plains and East from Thursday to Saturday.

Wanchai Sak-udomchai, director-general of the department, said the forecast was for Thursday and Friday in the North, Northeast, Central Plains and East.

On Saturday, thunderstorms would continue in the North and central region while rain would decline in the Northeast and East.

He attributed the weather conditions to a high-pressure system in upper Thailand and the South China Sea and the westerly wind in the North during the period.
