With the washout summer weather set to continue on Thursday new figures have revealed the nation saw the least amount of sunshine recorded since 2012.
Forecasters predict that today Brits will once again be lashed by heavy rain as temperatures barely creep into the low 20s.
There will be some 'scattered, heavy showers' in parts of Wales before central areas of England are hit by 'thundery showers.'
Temperatures will also be slightly below average and the miserable weather is likely to continue into the evening.
And the rain is set to drag on into Friday with Northern Ireland and areas in the north west being hit by torrential downpours.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that despite this summer hitting highs of 32.5C, which was recorded at the end of last month, sunshine is the lowest for ten years.
Met Office data reveals the country has seen only 442 hours of sunshine since June 1, whereas in previous summers the nation has seen up to 615 hours of sun.
Last year Brits saw a sweltering August with the hottest day for 17 years as the mercury reached above 36C.

Torrential rain has already lashed the nation for weeks and August has seen cool temperatures for much of the month.
Flooding has hit parts of the country as the soggy summer stretched on for weeks.
And hopes for a mini heatwave appear to have been dashed after forecasters ruled it out.
Met Office forecaster Steven Keates said earlier: “This summer has certainly been unremarkable and pretty bland. It’s not going to be remembered for warmth.
“We’ve had flooding, some parts of the country have seen double their average rainfall, and temperatures have been average.
“A heatwave is not on the cards either.”
