In a preview of the opening contest of the 2021-22 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors met the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League finale.
While Jonathan Kuminga was ruled out for the contest, all eyes were on the No. 14 overall pick from the 2021 draft Moses Moody and 2020 second-round pick Justinian Jessup.
Moody continued his solid run through the summer league with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor with two rebounds, a steal, an assist and a block in 24 minutes.
Jessup notched a game-high 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field with three boards, an assist and a block in 32 minutes. The Boise State product got hot from deep, hitting four triples on seven attempts from long distance.
Even with Kyle Guy adding 16 points, it still wasn’t enough to slow down the Warriors. Led by Trevelin Queen’s 21 point effort, the Lakers put an end to the Warriors Summer League campaign with a loss, 84-76.
