He averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this summer and at one point he put down a dunk that had the whole league talking. He played so well, The Ringer also named him one of the five most interesting players in Summer League. Let’s go Miles.

After some time playing in the G-League and overseas I feel confident that Matt Costello can now play in the NBA after watching him play for the Pistons in Summer League. Do I think he should be a starter or primary backup? Not really, not yet. Do I think he would be a good third big to have on an NBA roster? Absolutely I do.

Matt Costello really showed out in Summer League. He put up 13.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while averaging 20 minutes in each contest. He was energetic and effective on both ends, even hitting a few threes from time to time. Matt Costello should be on an NBA roster.
