Summer heatwave to hit Ayrshire this week as temperature set to rocket to 26C

Ayrshire is to be hit with a heatwave throughout this week, forecasters are predicting.

The mercury is set to rocket with some areas in the region expected to experience highs of 26C on Thursday.

And those that like it hot will be happy to know that wall-to-wall sunshine is being forecast between Tuesday and Friday.

And as usual, the coast is forecast to be a bit cooler than land-locked towns in the region, according to the Met Office.
