Summer festivals: the lineups so far

What? Isle of Wight festival

When? 11-13 June

Where? Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight

Who? Friday sees Jay-Z return to the festival scene after a triumphant performance at Glastonbury in 2008, as well as Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris and Doves. Saturday promises the Strokes, Blondie and Vampire Weekend, while Sunday has Pink, Spandau Ballet and Friendly Fires

What? Glastonbury festival

When? 23-27 June

Where? Worthy Farm, Somerset

Cost? £185 + £5 booking fee – next sale of tickets is at 9am, on 11 April

Who? The granddaddy of UK festivals hopes to celebrate its 40th anniversary with some panache this year, after selling out of its first batch of tickets in one day. U2 will headline the Pyramid stage on Friday, Muse look set to top the bill on Saturday, while soul legend Stevie Wonder will close the festival on Sunday night. Other likely acts include N-Dubz, Vampire Weekend and Boy George

What? V festival

When? 21- 22 August

Where? Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex

Who? Rockers Kings of Leon will headline on Saturday, with Leicester's finest Kasabian topping the bill on Sunday. Other highlights include Stereophonics, Florence and the Machine, Faithless, Pet Shop Boys and Cheryl Cole. Similar lineup in a different order at the Weston Park, Staffordshire site

What? T in the Park

When? 9-11 July

Where? Balado, nr Kinross, Scotland

Cost? £180 for weekend with camping (sold out)

Who? Kasabian, Muse and Eminem will headline. They will be joined by the Black Eyed Peas, Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Faithless, Florence and the Machine, Jay-Z, and the Stereophonics

What? Latitude

When? 15-18 July

Where? Henham Park Estate, Beccles, Suffolk

Cost? Weekend adult ticket £155, day tickets £65, children aged 12 or under free

Who? Florence and the Machine, Belle & Sebastian, and Vampire Weekend have been announced as the headliners. Also playing: James, Mumford & Sons, Midlake, Laura Marling, Hockey, Corinne Bailey Rae.

What? Reading festival/Leeds festival

When? 27-29 August

Cost? £180 for a weekend ticket

Where? Little John's Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire/Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire

Who? Guns N' Roses will headline on Friday, while the freshly reformed Libertines will play, probably, on Saturday. Also: Queens of the Stone Age, Dizzee Rascal, LCD Soundsystem, Cypress Hill, Limp Bizkit and Mumford & Sons.

What? Bestival

When? 9-12 September

Where? Robin Hill Country Park, Downend, Nr Arreton, Isle of Wight.

Cost? £150 (Adult), £75 (Aged 13-15)

Who? Acts include Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, the Flaming Lips, Roxy Music and the Prodigy. Also Jonti, Wild Beasts, Mumford & Sons, the xx, and Gil Scott-Heron
