Campsites could be allowed to open this summer, a senior government minister has said.
The coronavirus pandemic has left it increasingly unlikely Brits will be able to holiday abroad this summer, with countries still imposing strict lockdowns.
However, camping holidays could be allowed to go ahead, with some sites possibly opening in July.
Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey told Sky: "I know there are a lot of campsites that are very keen for people to come.
"Some of this is being carefully considered, recognising that we have a reduced outdoor transmission risk, that things like camping may well become suitable.

"But that is a decision that still needs to be taken for later this year, potentially in July or even later in the year, recognising that we need to do all we can to keep that R rate below one, the number of infections down, and we need to be careful when we take those steps."
Caravan sites are also hoping to open to the public this summer.
Holiday companies, such as Haven holiday par,k have revealed ways that they would reopen.

Currently all of the chain's 40 parks remain closed until July 2. However, staff are working towards welcoming guests back when it is safe to do so whilst ensuring they comply with the coronavirus restrictions.
If you're planning on booking a holiday with Haven when they reopen then you sadly won't be able to use the swimming pool, enjoy activities, entertainment or eat in the pubs and restaurants.
But you will be able to book a holiday home, order takeaway food and use the open beaches.

It's all part of the 'Haven Hideaway' which aims at still giving families a much needed break while following social distancing rules.
The company says that prices for these holidays have been adjusted to reflect the experience and guests who already have breaks booked during this period will not be affected at this stage.
Gerard Tempest, guest and proposition director, said: “We have thousands of guests who have already had breaks cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We look forward to reopening our parks as soon as government advice allows and as soon it is safe to do so, and are busy making changes to the way we operate our parks to ensure we can comply with the latest requirements.
"With social distancing requirements likely to remain in place, we don’t expect to be able to provide the full Haven experience to the number of guests we would normally welcome.
"However we can still provide the chance for families to escape to the British coast and enjoy a breath of fresh air at the seaside on a Haven Hideaway break.”
Most other companies are closed until July at least, but are offering discounts on holidays for 2021.
