Summer camp for children of autism centre

Samagra Shiksha’s Thiruvananthapuram South urban resource centre (URC) will organise Nirakoottu, a summer holiday collective for children on the autism spectrum who receive training at its autism centre.

Therapy for parents

The camp will be held from April 11 to May 25. Experts will provide training to encourage the children’s creativity and sporting abilities. Individual therapy, group therapy, music, band training, dance, painting, craft, aerobics, and sports will be arranged for the children. Therapy will also be provided to parents to reduce their stress and frustration.

Actor Manu Varma will inaugurate the summer holiday collective in the presence of Samagra Shiksha, Kerala State Project director Supriya A.R. at 2 p.m. on Monday.

The summer collective is being held with the aim of including these children in all school activities once the new academic year begins on June 1.
