Summative exams to continue

BHUBANESWAR: Around 5.76 lakh class X students appeared for the summative assessment examination-1 across the state following strict Covid guidelines on Wednesday.

Elaborate arrangements were made at the examination centres to ensure Covid protocols like mandatory wearing of masks, while children were welcomed with thermal scanners and sanitisers.

The students expressed happiness with the new test format. “The summative examination is helpful in reducing stress as we are being tested on only half of the syllabus. We will write for the rest of the syllabus in the next summative exam. The weightage for these examinations will help us in fetching good marks in the final exam,” said Swostika Pani, a class X student. Students appeared for the exam in two phases for one hour and answered multiple-choice questions (MCQ) worth 50 marks. The examination will continue till January 8.
