A fire destroyed an office in a six-storey commercial building on Sukhumvit Soi 8 in Bangkok, causing minor injuries to two foreign men.
The building, at 39 Sukhumvit soi 8, houses rental office and living accommodation and a restaurant. The fire started about 11.25am on Monday in office space on the ground floor.
The flames destroyed office furniture and scorched wall panels and ceiling tiles in a roughly 25-square-metre space.
Fire crews rushed to the scene quickly doused the flames, preventing the fire spreading to the upper floors, where tenants live.
Investigators said the fire was possibly started by an electrical short circuit inside the office.
Two American men received minor injuries. A 63-year-old sprained his ankle. He declined hospital treatment after receiving first aid at the scene. The second victim, aged 26, injured his right foot and was taken to hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported. Residents were safely evacuated.
