Former The Ark member Suji shocked fans on Thursday when she announced her decision to step away from social media.
The idol, who married actor Go Hyung Woo early this year in an intimate ceremony, shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post, revealing she would be taking a break from promoting online.
Suji began her message stating, "I am not sure how to start this. I will be taking a hiatus from promoting on Instagram. Because of this sudden announcement, there might be some who are worried. To them, I want to say that I am doing very well."
The reason behind Suji's hiatus was unexpected and surprisingly lighthearted. She explained, "The small reason for the hiatus is that I dropped my phone in the toilet, and thanks to that incident, my views on life have changed, which led me to make this decision."
The star went on to reflect on the 9 years she has spent on the app sharing, "From the pages of precious interaction with fans, big and small things of many people who have come to know in their lives... sharing together crying laughing too, it used to be my little diary most of the time :)"
"I also won a community where I thought showing was more important than anything else," she said and added that she now wants to keep a few things private.
