Suicide bombers target market and school, killing at least 19 in northern Cameroon

Two suicide bombers killed at least 19 people at a market in northern Cameroon on Friday.

Authorities said that two young men walked into a market disguised as food vendors in the town of Meme. The attackers then triggered their explosives, Far North Governor Midjiyawa Bakari told the Associated Press.

More than 100 victims were wounded and being treated at a nearby hospital in Tokombere.

Two separate attackers also targeted a school nearby, but detonated their explosives 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) away when they were identified, teacher

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but Cameroon's intelligence officials suspect Boko Haram to be responsible, the Business Standard reports.

The so-called Islamic extremist group has killed more tan 20,000 people, according to Amnesty International.
