Sudden Sydney storm sparks severe weather warning

Impressive storm cloud shelf rolls in towards Sydney’s eastern suburbs

Sydney was battered by severe weather on Friday afternoon as clear blue skies gave way to hail, thunder and lightning in the afternoon.

Just after 1pm the 27C weather turned and the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for Sydney’s northern beaches, saying the worst would hit from 3.25pm.
