The sudden deaths of two men in Glasgow on New Year's Day has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Best friends Christopher Watson, 27, and Jordan Riddell, 28, were hailed as 'legends' by heartbroken friends and family following the news of their tragic passing.

Police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into both deaths, under the direction of Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit (SFIU).

A balloon release is planned for the pals at Govanhill Park on Sunday afternoon, with personalised balloons and hoodies ordered, reports the Daily Record.

A Crown Office spokesperson said: "The Procurator Fiscal has received two reports in connection with the deaths of a 27 year-old man and a 28-year-old man in Glasgow on 1 January 2021.

"The investigation into the deaths, under the direction of Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit (SFIU), is ongoing and the family will continue to be kept updated in relation to any significant developments."
