Sudden death of woman in Glasgow city centre as police forensics spotted at scene

Police have launched an investigation after the 'unexplained' death of a woman in Glasgow city centre this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Renfrew Street after reports a 45-year-old woman had lost her life.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reports forensic officers being seen outside the Hampton Court Guest House and Willow Hotel on the city centre street, near to the Glasgow School of Art in Garnethill.

Police say they are currently treating the sudden death as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson is quoted as telling the Daily Record: "Emergency services were called to a premises on Renfrew Street, Glasgow around 3.10pm on Friday, 10 April, following the sudden death of a 45-year-old woman.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
