'Sudden' death of Glasgow woman not being treated as suspicious

The "sudden" death of a woman in Glasgow is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.

The 50-year-old's body was found at an address on Garscube Road on Sunday, 21 February.

Police made the grim discovery at 10.25pm and cordoned off the area over night while they conducted enquiries.

The identity of the woman is yet to be released.

Cops initially were treating her death as "unexplained" and a post mortem was carried out.

Based on the results, police are not treating the death as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to an address in Garscube Road in Glasgow at around 10.25pm on Sunday, 21 February, 2021 following the sudden death of a 50-year-old woman.

“A post mortem has been carried out and the death is not being treated as suspicious. As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
