Sudden death of 53-year-old Scots woman at Glasgow flat probed by cops

Cops are probing the "sudden" death of a 53-year-old woman at a property in Glasgow.

Officers were called to an address in Cumming Drive around 5.30pm on Saturday after a body was found.

They are currently treating the woman's death as "unexplained" and enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

Locals in the area reported seeing a heavy police presence yesterday evening and forensic officers were also spotted in the street.

Ambulances reportedly attended the incident before a private ambulance arrived.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to an address in Cumming Drive in Glasgow at around 5.30pm on Saturday, 24 April 2021 following the sudden death of a 53-year-old woman.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
