Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok will travel to Egypt on Wednesday and from there to France to meet with President Emmanuel Macron.
His talks in Paris will be followed by a visit to the US to partake in the UN General Assembly sessions.
Government Affairs Minister Omar Manis said in remarks that Hamdok's tour aims to strengthen the country's foreign relations and cooperation between Sudan and the countries he is visiting.
Manis noted that the visit could be seen as an indication of the world's interest in the Sudanese revolution and the newly-formed government to lead the country's democratic transition.
Hamdok is expected to travel to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly meetings as part of his efforts to present Sudan as a leading and responsible country, SUNA quoted Manis as saying.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese government held its second meeting after its formation, during which the cabinet discussed the Prime Minister's visit to South Sudan last Thursday.
In a statement, Manis said Hamdok briefed the ministers on the “positive and friendly” results of his visit to South Sudan and his meetings with leaders of armed movements in Juba.
Manis said the meeting dealt with the political will to move forward in achieving just and sustainable peace as one of the top priorities of the transitional government, as well as arrangements for Sudan's participation in the General Assembly meetings.
On his visit to Juba, Hamdok said his government agreed with South Sudan’s government to remove all obstacles that may affect ties between the two countries, paving the way for what he called “the establishment of strategic relations.”
The minister also indicated that the cabinet session discussed pressing problems affecting all Sudanese citizens, namely shortage of wheat, petroleum products, and the difficulty of transportation. He stressed the government's determination to solve them.
