The Sudanese people want members of the former regime responsible for targeting and killing innocent people to be held accountable, not just removed from power.
The military council, which is leading the country until a transitional government is formed, announced that high-profile figures from the al-Bashir government had been arrested.
But analysts say removing all traces of the fallen government will have its challenges.
