Succession star Brian Cox has admitted using Viagra because “desire sometimes outweighs the performance” at his age.
The 75-year-old Dundonian said: “One needs a lot of help in the chemical department”.
Cox, who stars as Logan Roy in the HBO drama, said he wants to “amend the record” about a perception that people in their senior years aren’t having sex.
He said: “Viagra has been a very great thing but testosterone is important, too. One should take advantage of whatever one can.”
The dad of four admitted he worries about his sons and how they approach women. He added: “I do look at young people and feel sorry for young men because of the #MeToo situation. I have two sons and I worry about them. My youngest son – how does he approach women?
“The positive impact of it is certainly true when it comes to people like Harvey Weinstein and others who blatantly abused their position. #MeToo was a necessary movement but as with all movements, there’s always the Yang as well as the Yin.”
A dual citizen of the UK and America, Cox also revealed in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald that he’d like to see an independent Scotland.
He said: “Scotland has moved from tribalism to egalitarianism in an extraordinary way.”
