‘Successful story’ - What promotion would mean to the Nottingham Forest players

If Nottingham Forest were to achieve promotion to the Premier League, it would arguably go down as one of the most memorable seasons in the club’s recent history.

The Reds are currently battling with a host of other clubs to secure promotion to the top flight, with the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Leeds United, Fulham, Brentford, Preston North and Bristol City also in the mix.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are currently in fifth place in the league standings, four points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.

Recent victories over Leeds and Brentford have highlighted the ability of the Forest team, but it’s worth taking note of the celebrations from the players.

After Tyler Walker netted Forest’s second goal in the 2-0 win over Leeds, the whole squad gathered to celebrate with the fans in the Trent End.

Joe Worrall was one of those who showed his passion for the win, with the centre-back growing up as a Forest fan from Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Live’s Reds correspondent Sarah Clapson was joined by special guest Max Hayes for this week’s edition of the Garibaldi Red podcast.

This week, Sarah discusses how much promotion would mean to the Forest players, with the club having home grown talents like Worrall, Matty Cash and Ryan Yates in their ranks.

You can see what else Sarah and Max have to say in the video above, or you can tune in to listen to the full Garibaldi Red podcast either on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Youtube.
