Subway launches new ‘Mega Meat Sub’ in major menu overhaul for October

Subway has just added a new sandwich - the Mega Meat Sub – as part of a major overhaul of its menu.

The Mega Meat combines the Meatball Marinara and the Italian BMT meaning you get ham, spicy pepperoni, salami and beef meatballs topped with Subway’s signature Marinara sauce in one.

But that's far from the only change, with Flamin' Hot Dorritos now an option for nachos alongside the regular version - and it's adding even more mozzarella cheese on top of both.

For people looking for lighter lunches there's good news too - with the announcment that you can now order the ingredients of any sub turned into either a salad or wrap instead.

"If you’ve ever dreamed of enjoying your Cheesy Pepperoni as a delicious wrap, or an Italian BMT as a lunchtime salad, all your cravings can now be fulfilled," the chain said in a statement.

"Subway’s new ‘Make Any Sub A Wrap or A Salad’ menu launch means, for the first time, any six-inch sub filling can now be ordered as a wrap or salad – so fans now have more choice to customise their mealtimes and satisfy their hunger."

And the salads just got better for the environment too, with a new sustainable salad box packaging, replacing plastic salad bowls and lids with cardboard salad box.

"Supporting the brand’s commitment to reducing its single plastic consumption, Subway has replaced their plastic salad bowls and lids with a new sustainable cardboard salad box – removing 461 tonnes of single use plastic from its supply chain across the UK and Ireland in the process," Subway said.

In another change, Subway is introducing four new sub categories: Heroes, Legends, Iconics, and Classics.

You can also choose your sandwich based on High Protein, Plant-Based or Low-Fat menu options.

All of Subway’s subs, wraps and salads can also be upgraded to a meal with the addition of a regular drink and either a cookie or packet of crisps, the chain added.
