Subway launches Cheesy Garlic Bread diffuser to have your home smelling unique

Forget the fresh scent of pine needles at Christmas or the aroma of freshly brewed coffee - how about surprising guests to your house with a smell set to whet the appetite?

If the idea sounds a bit cheesy, it should. The new addition to the home accessory market is by sandwich chain Subway which has created a scent diffuser which smells like one of its most popular menu items - cheesy garlic bread.

Described as "the ultimate home accessory you never knew you needed", the company reckons its unique limited-edition fragrance will make a welcome change from traditional festive season aromas and will make a home smell "delicious".

The Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread Reed Diffuser combines notes of garlic, melting cheese and freshly-baked bread and a Subway spokesman said: "Whether you’re throwing a Christmas party or hosting a family roast, the new diffusers will produce cheesy wafts sure to leave an impression on your guests."

What's on TV this Christmas?

But anyone hoping to buy one of the diffusers this Christmas will instead have to stick to the likes of gingerbread and mulled wine for now as the company has so far created just 100 prototypes for a trial run and the diffusers won't be rolled out nationally until next year.

Subway's UK director Colin Hughes said: "We predict Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread could become the scent of 2020!"

He added: "Our Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread is a huge hit with our guests - they can’t get enough of it - so we wanted to find a way to give them more of what they really want."
