Subsea UK launches upgraded portal to help offshore firms win new business

Subsea UK has launched an upgraded version of its market intelligence tool SubseaIntel to put energy sector firms in a strong position to win business post-coronavirus.

The energy industry support body's online database allows its 300 members to search almost 1,400 subsea oil and gas projects and 130 renewable projects worldwide for contract opportunities. It includes contract awards, including those up for tender and contract values when available.

Aberdeen-based Subsea UK developed SubseaIntel in 2015 as the first portal providing quick access to global market opportunities, market information by country and industry trends in one place.

Chief executive Neil Gordon said: “The number of companies using the service has increased year on year, underlining the value of comprehensive, up-to-date information in an accessible, user-friendly format to members.

“The current global situation and low oil price have resulted in projects being deferred or cancelled.

"However, the supply chain needs access to dynamic market intelligence to monitor the changes and identify opportunities whilst we are coping with the impact of coronavirus crisis and SubseaIntel is now revamped and ready for them to use in planning, forecasting and assist with business development strategies.”

Subsea UK will host e-learning events via Microsoft Teams to give an overview of the upgrades on 7 May, 11 June and 9 July 2020.
