Subsea equipment supplier is renamed Spectis Robotics

Remotely operated robot firm Inuktun Europe has been rebranded Spectis Robotics after being bought by businessman Brian Storie.

The Bridge of Don-based business specialises in the sale, rental and service of robotic crawlers and inspection cameras for clients in the oil and gas, nuclear, renewables and civil engineering sectors.

It is in advanced talks with potential partners about international distribution agreements and aims to expand its geographical reach, appointing additional staff this year.

Managing director Storie acquired Inuktun as Canadian headquartered Inuktun Services Ltd in February.

He retains full ownership of the firm, which was the European authorised distributor and service centre for Inuktun products. Its five staff transfer to Spectis Robotics.

Storie said: “I am excited to see what the future holds for Spectis Robotics, our staff, customers and suppliers. While our immediate focus will be on consolidating our existing position, the new identity will allow the business to spread its wings in terms of product offering and enter new markets.

“Beyond the name change, customers can be reassured that they are still dealing with the same knowledgeable team here in Aberdeen and will receive the high levels of service that they have come to expect.”
