Subscription prices to increase for some Irish Netflix customers

Netflix Ireland has confirmed some of its subscription prices will rise from today.

If you're currently subscribed to the basic plan, there will be no change to the €7.99 monthly fee.

However, the standard subscription will increase by €1 to €11.99 per month while the premium plan will increase by €2 to €15.99.

The company will make customers aware a month before the price of their plan changes, RSVP Live reports.

A spokesperson said: "Netflix is implementing some price changes in some European countries from today including Ireland.

"We change our prices from time to time to reflect the significant investments we’ve made in new TV shows and films, as well as improvements to our product.

"Our basic membership will remain at the same price, ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy our content.”

They added: "These increases will roll out to all new members immediately.

"Existing members will be notified by email, as well as within the Netflix app a month before the new prices are applied to them."
