Subnautica 2 hotfix makes silver more common early on and stops Hammerheads from following players all the way home

Subnautica 2's second hotfix is making silver easier to come across early on in the survival game, while also shooing away those terrifying Hammerheads to stop them from following players all the way home.

Developer Unknown Worlds pushed the Early Access game's second hotfix out to sea today with a handy list of changes. Top of the list are more Silver resource areas in early game regions and more Troilite resource areas in late game regions, which should make the grind for resources slightly easier.

Adjustments to Hammerhead behavior also headline the hotfix. Like a moth to a living room that's left the lamp on overnight, Hammerheads used to be extremely attracted to the lights in players' Tadpole vehicles, which "resulted in Hammerheads following players, even back to their bases, and hanging out there trying to reach the Tadpole." Unknown Worlds have toned all of that down now.

Unknown Worlds also previously promised a bunch of changes to the game's controversial Terms of Service were inbound, and it's now made good on that: "Revised sections include Preamble, Limited License, Gameplay Videos, Prohibited Uses, Ownership, Section Title, Player-Submitted Content, Limitation of Liability, Transfer of Terms and Conditions."

From here on out, the survival game developer says "additional changes are currently being worked on to address community feedback on creature balance and overall graphics performance," perhaps in reaction to all the discourse around non-violence and difficulty. But we'll see what happens as the team "continue to roll out those changes in the coming weeks."

You can check out the full list of fixes here.

Subnautica 2 sells over 4 million copies in under 1 week, and Unknown Worlds "incredibly grateful" for the survival game's success
