Right-wing personality Charlie Kirk has responded to the news of Taylor Swift’s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight-end, Travis Kelce. Speaking on his own show, Kirk stated that he hoped that the engagement “will make Taylor Swift more conservative.”
News of Taylor’s engagement has dominated headlines this week. In a clip that is now going viral online, Kirk expressed his hope that the pop singer will “reject feminism” now that she is set to be married. It seems Kirk expects Swift to change her fundamental beliefs like this is the Victorian era or even the middle ages. He goes on to tell her “engage in reality more… submit to your husband Taylor, You’re not in charge anymore.”
Charlie Kirk: "This is something I hope will make Taylor Swift more conservative… Submit to your husband, Taylor. You're not in charge."

Kirk might be the one who needs to engage in reality, is he aware we’re not living in the Gilded age anymore? Women don’t just stop being who they are once they get married and they haven’t for a long time.
Charlie Kirk antagonizes Taylor and her fans
The discussion surrounding Taylor’s engagement on Kirk’s show seems to be an intentional bid to enrage fans of the “Shake it off” singer. In the past Kirk has heavily criticized the singer for being too woke in his opinion. As far as wokeness goes that seems like a bit of a stretch, while she did come out in support of Kamala Harris prior to last year’s election, the singer often avoids politics altogether so to go after her for being woke seems a little redundant.
Despite this, Kirk accused Taylor of being “annoyingly liberal over the last couple of years.” his comments ultimately just make him look like a gross misogynist trying to hijack Swift’s happy announcement. His creepy comments didn’t stop at telling the singer she should submit to her husband either, he went on to state that he would love to see her have a ton of children. Kirk just has the dodgiest vibes and the things he says really don’t help.
On X plenty were calling him out for his inappropriate comments, one person wrote “This is what conservatism has boiled down to: begging women to shrink themselves so fragile men can feel big.” Another pointed out, “Marriage is not ownership,” while a third wrote, “She makes about five times more than Travis Kelce does, but Kirk says, “You’re not in charge.””
Kirk has always had his head stuck in the past. Unfortunately it seems he refuses to engage with the modern world and his fragile ego is so often shattered when met with reality. His attack on Taylor Swift shows just how ridiculously out of touch he is to think that her marriage would magically make her a brainless MAGA supporter like him.
