Style On Sunday: Summer 2019 icon Margot Robbie shows off show-stopping looks on and off the red carpet

Groovy, baby! Margot Robbie is this summer’s style icon after her series of show-stopping looks both on and off the red carpet.

In Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, the Australian stunner plays the role of Sharon Tate, the pregnant actress who was brutally murdered by the Manson family in 1969.

In the critically-acclaimed film, Robbie, 29, takes on Tate’s mod style with iconic pieces of the era such as calf-length boots, leather trenches, and mini skirts.

And for the movie’s current press tour, the Oscar-nominated actress is sticking to the 1960s aesthetic for her wardrobe choices.

Robbie cemented her fashionista credentials when she hit the London premiere of her new film last week in a gorgeous burnt orange Oscar de la Renta dress, complete with a plunging neckline, as well as heeled sandals by Tabitha Simmons.

For the after-party she opted for a chic two-piece in an all-over neutral floral print by Matteau.

Robbie’s stylist Kate Young also came up trumps for the Los Angeles premiere which delivered another stunning look inspired by ’70s goddess Lauren Hutton.

Channelling a specific Richard Avedon portrait of Hutton shot for Vogue in 1973, Robbie arrived at the premiere in a billowing white Chanel frock.

Meanwhile, a low-cut, olive green dress by French brand Jacquemus was the garment of choice for the Berlin premiere of the movie, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.

To recreate Robbie’s look think maxi dresses with plunge necklines for dramatic, look-at-me occasion wear.

Flower-power prints, chic cami frocks and mini dresses with a puff sleeve give a modern twist to the ‘60s classic.
