Style on Sunday: Celebs serve up stylish summer fashion at Wimbledon

Wimbledon is the grown-ups’ Love Island, especially when it comes to summer fashion. The world’s most famous tennis tournament serves up stylish ensembles by its chic attendees every year.

It’s a lovely fashion oasis, shielded from dazzling neon and daring cut-offs.

There isn’t an official dress code for Wimbledon but you wouldn’t dare be seen in ripped denim or sportswear, and don’t even think about oversized hats and selfie sticks, which are also banned.

Summer dresses have reigned supreme again for Wimbledon 2019 as seen by Kate Middleton who appeared at the tournament last Tuesday dressed head-to-toe in Wimbledon whites.

In a custom shirt dress designed by British brand Suzannah, the royal offset the piece with a slim black belt, heeled pumps and raffia box bag by Alexander McQueen.

Opting for a more casual look, Kate’s sister-in-law Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at Centre Court to support close friend Serena Williams in her second-round match against Kaja Juvan. New mum Meghan chose a pair of jeans, a black Lavender Hill top, a white striped L’Agence blazer and a pair of Finlay and Co sunglasses, completing her look with an “A” necklace in a nod to her son Archie.

Actress Joely Richardson made sure all eyes were on her in a bright pink polka dot maxi dress by Olivia Rubin.

TV star and writer of the moment, Phoebe Waller-Bridge looked blooming gorgeous in a white midi dress by Reformation.

She teamed her look with slingback heels by Jimmy Choo.

Spice Girl Geri Horner sported a crisp white dress by Alexander McQueen and set it off with a yellow Prada bag.

Get the SW19 look for less with a chic midi dress such as French Connection’s pretty floral wrap dress, reduced to €64 and Yondal’s bloom dress, €65, available at Divine Boutique.

Shoulders aren’t off-limits either, as seen on opera star Katherine Jenkins, who cut an elegant figure in a white striped dress. We love Zara’s version, which is a steal at just €19.99.
