Style expert explains how to properly tuck in a shirt - and we've all been doing it wrong

A style coach has revealed that people have been tucking in their shirts incorrectly all along. For many of us tucking in our shirts is a regular part of the daily routine.

However, a style coach named Tanistha revealed that the method which most of us use is wrong. The fashion expert explains that people can end up looking "bulky" when they tuck their shirt in.

Posting to her 143,000 followers on Instagram under the username @tanisthabasu, the expert shares fashion tips and style hacks. In a recent post, she revealed the different ways that she would go about tucking in her shirt.

Tanistha captioned the post "SAVE THIS FOR LATER" and starts off the clip saying: "Here are some do's and don'ts of tucking in your top."

She then shows herself tucking in a shirt the way most do, explaining: "Don't tuck your shirt like this. Instead tuck each end towards the opposite side for a non-bulky look"

She then showed users how to tuck a jumper into a skirt, saying "Don’t tuck your top inside the skirt like this. Instead, use the hair tie method for a seamless look."

As for T-shirts, she suggests ticking just the "thin end" in to avoid it looking as if your top has been stuffed into your jeans. The now-viral clip received nearly 370,000 likes and has been inundated with comments from impressed Instagram users

"Just started a new job and we gotta tuck our shirts in for work (which I never do (usually looks odd on me as my proportions are whack) so thank you for this," said one person.

Another added: "Great tips. Must try this next time," while a third commented: "SHE’S A LIFESAVER!"

A fourth user wrote: "I think this will help us men too."
