STV presenters take on 116-mile TukTuk charity challenge across Scotland in torrential rain and wind

STV presenters Sean Batty and Laura Boyd have ditched the day jobs and are embracing an extremely wet and windy challenge - but it's all for a good cause.

They're currently travelling from Oban to Dundee, which is about 116 miles, and they're doing it in a TukTuk for the STV Children's Appeal.

Much-loved weatherman Sean and entertainment reporter Laura have been keeping their followers updated on social media from the vehicle which has no windows or doors and only travels at 30mph.

The pair have been spotted wrapped up big jackets as they try to keep sheltered from the awful weather.

In a video on Twitter, Laura joked that they have been gunged, quizzed and soaked so far.

Laura added: "We've pulled over to the side just now - we've been in schools all morning - we are a complete riot after that."

Sean then said: "We've had slime poured over us and I still have dried slime on my back. It's horrible. We're going to Crainlarich now."

Laura replied: "It's going to take us at least two hours. It takes like an hour and a half or so in a normal car... this thing only goes 30mph and it's pouring.

"I mean what are we doing?"
