STV news hilarious Barlinnie's 'A-hole' slip on live broadcast has Glaswegians in stitches

A STV news broadcast had Glaswegians in stitches after the presenter made a blunder when discussing Barlinnie prison.

Presenter Sophie Wallace accidentally referred to Barlinnie's "A-hole" when discussing a coronavirus outbreak at the jail.

Without even breaking concentration, she quickly recovered to correct the mistake and inform viewers prisoners and staff are in fact self-isolating in the prison's A Hall.

Sophie reported: "The Scottish Prison Service have also confirmed 12 staff are isolating in the jail's A-hole... A Hall where all visits have been suspended until the end of October."

Two prisoners and four members of staff at Barlinnie prison have tested positive for the virus.

All 256 prisoners in A Hall are now having to self-isolate and visiting has been suspended for the inmates until October 20.

Visits recommenced at jails across Scotland on September 28, subject to a series of restrictions.

An SPS spokesman said the rest of the prison is not affected by the outbreak or visiting ban. Contact tracing is currently being undertaken on all staff members.
