A brand-new action RPG called "Stupid Never Dies" is officially launching on October 21, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
The game comes from GPTRACK50, an indie studio founded by veterans of the "Devil May Cry" and "Dragon's Dogma" series, and will be published worldwide in partnership with SEGA.
'Stupid Never Dies' Confirms October Fall Release
According to a press release from GPTRACK50, "Stupid Never Dies" is set for a fall release, specifically on October 21 across its available platforms like PlayStation 5 and PC.
"Stupid Never Dies" is described by GPTRACK50 as a blazing-fast growth 3D action RPG, centering on a timid zombie named Davy who sits at the very bottom of monster society and must claw his way to the top. The story follows Davy as he ventures into a deadly dungeon on a mission to bring Julia, a frozen human heroine, back to life.
The tagline the studio has adopted for the game is "Bite, Rip, Rise!" which captures the tone of a scrappy underdog pushing against the odds.
Two core mechanics anchor the gameplay, with the first being Body Hack, which lets players modify Davy's body to unlock new abilities and playstyles. The second is Style Eat, a system that allows Davy to steal the powers of defeated enemies and incorporate them into his own arsenal.
Both mechanics point toward the kind of deep, character-building combat loop that the studio's former Capcom background is well suited to deliver.
The game is rated M by the ESRB and is strictly single-player. Pricing is set at $49.99 for the Standard Edition and $59.99 for the Glorious Idiot Edition, which includes the base game alongside the first DLC pack. A physical PS5 edition will also be available in select regions.
GPTRACK50 Comes From Former Capcom Dev
GPTRACK50 was founded by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, a longtime Capcom producer whose credits include some of the publisher's most recognizable franchises. Kobayashi served as producer on multiple entries in the "Resident Evil" series, including "Resident Evil 6," as well as "Dragon's Dogma" and entries in the "Devil May Cry" and "Dino Crisis" lineups.
After departing Capcom in 2017, Kobayashi established GPTRACK50 with the explicit goal of creating original IP and innovative gaming experiences outside of the franchise-driven environment of a major publisher.
"Stupid Never Dies" represents the studio's first game, arriving roughly nine years after the company was founded.
The SEGA partnership for global publishing gives the title a notable distribution foothold.
First Look at the Game's DLC
The Glorious Idiot Edition bundles the base game with the "TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack," a DLC that adds five cosmetic companions called TickTock Teddies.
Each one modifies a different aspect of the game experience, including battle music, footstep sound effects, visual effects during certain abilities, and level-up animations, giving players a range of ways to personalize the look and sound of their playthrough.
The DLC is available separately for $15 for players who buy the Standard Edition and decide to add it later. A trailer showing the TickTock Teddies in action was released alongside the announcement.
On the music side, two theme songs tied to the game's protagonist and heroine are also coming. The opening theme, titled "Stupid Never Dies," is a high-energy pop-punk track performed by characters Davy and Julia. The ending theme, titled "Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless," is described as a heartfelt acoustic track sung by Davy about his feelings for Julia.
