A stunning Saddleworth Moor walking route has been named as one of the best winter hikes in the UK.
The Trinnacle Trail has been included in a list of six spectacular hikes by outdoor goods retailer Blacks.
The beauty spot is a popular hiking route for those in Greater Manchester due to its spectacular views and easy access to a number of outdoor activities, such as climbing and sailing.
Walking the Trail takes visitors up to the Trinnacle, a series of unique gritstone pillars along the edge of the Dovestone Edge.
The route offers stunning views across the water of the Dovestone and Yeoman Hey reservoirs, as well as the beautiful landscape of the surrounding Peak District.
Way up above the water's edge is the Trinnacle, a skyscraper of a gritstone pillar that has broken away from the cliff edge to create a dramatic viewpoint, Derbyshire Live reports.
Joe Dambra, a landscape photographer, told Blacks his preferred route when visiting the stoic Peak District landmark.
He said: "I like to start the hike from the Binn Green car park. From there you go clockwise, past Greenfield Reservoir, then climb the brook up onto the moors. Follow the moors for around 20 minutes and you will have arrived at the Trinnacle."
The picturesque route is quite easy, bar the climb up the brook which can become perilous in the snow.
