Stunning New Lambton Heights home snapped up after first open

A beautiful, Kevin Snell-designed residence in New Lambton Heights has been secured by an out-of-town buyer for $1.95 million after its first open house.

First National Newcastle City's George Rafty marketed the home on 1940 square metres of land backing on to Blackbutt Reserve with a guide of $1.85 million to $1.95 million and was "blown away" by the response.

It is the second-highest sale for Lookout Road. No.83 sold for $2 million in 2016, according to Australian Property Monitors data.

Also in New Lambton Heights, $995,000 has been paid by a local family for a home built by the Stronach family at 4 Hurn Street that was marketed by Dalton Partners.

A five-bedroom home with a pool at 21 Oxley Road, Waratah has been sold by Robinson Property for $1.02 million. According to APM data, it is only the third home in Waratah to break the $1 million mark.

Durham Road, in Lambton, also has had its first sale over $1 million with No.110 selling for $1.39 million at auction for one of the suburb's highest results.

PRDnationwide's Matt Barnes said the auction of a four-bedroom home at 56 Edward Street in Merewether on Wednesday night was "hotly contested".

BIG: This five-bedroom house with a pool in Waratah has sold for $1.02 million.

There were eight registered buyers, five from Sydney. The property had a guide of $900,000 and sold under the hammer for $1.1 million.

A four-bedroom home on 5204 square metres of land at 6 Park Street in Cardiff sold for $990,000.

Raine & Horne reported the $1.1 million sale of a restored 1885 Victorian terrace at 222 Darby Street in Cooks Hill after only 18 days on the market.
