'Loving' mum was 'far too young to get her wings' as tributes flood in

A 'loving' mum was "far too young to get her wings" say those devastated by her death.

Hundreds of tributes to Megan Morrey have flooded social media with many also sending heartfelt messages of support to her family and children.

The 21-year-old was found dead at her home in Norris Green by her mum and sister on August 7.

Assistant Coroner David Lewis this week concluded that the mum-of-two had taken her own life.

People across the city posted heartbreaking messages to Megan who was hugely popular.

On Facebook, Betty Williams said: "Far too young to get her wings.

"RIP Thinking of her family at this sad time."

Linda Clark said: "Such a beautiful young mum.

"Thoughts with her family at this awful time."

Claire Rawley added: "How sad for her kids and family she has left behind.

"Far too young to go."

The former Holly Lodge Girls' School pupil was remembered for her "loving" nature and described as a "fantastic mum."

Her own mum, speaking on behalf of the family, told the ECHO : "Megan was full of life, always adventurous, a karaoke queen, singing and joking, extremely sentimental.

"She was so loving, who would do anything for anybody.

"Megan was a fantastic mum who idolised her two children and had so many friends.

"It's just tragic, you just don't know what is going on in someone's mind."

The family's tribute added: "Megan was very loving, even her primary and senior school teachers came to the funeral.

"The funeral director at Anfield Crematorium said it was the biggest funeral he'd ever seen, with hundreds lining the streets.

"Megan had a heart of gold."

Assistant Coroner Lewis told her family the 21-year-old "had so much to live for," and added: "It may have happened in the heat of the moment when the balance of her mind wasn't quite right.
