A brand new boutique aparthotel is set to open in a former magistrates court and jail cells.
Planning permission has been granted for the development, which will create 23 luxury apartments and a restaurant.
The family based hotel company Walker&Walker already operates two five star aparthotels No.10 Preston and Winckley Square Hotel , both in Preston city centre.
Now the Grade II listed former magistrates court on Derby Street in Ormskirk, will be transformed into a five star aparthotel.
A spokesperson told the ECHO: "Our Aparthotels offer our guests the best of both worlds, providing the luxury and space of a luxurious apartment with the service of a five star boutique hotel.
"We can't give too much away at this time but some of the features offered in some of the apartments will include private garden space, floating mezzanine floors, hot tubs, copper roll top bathtubs and star gazing roof windows."
A restaurant will be built in the former dock and seating booths will be set up in what was once the cell area.
Work will begin in August and is set to take 12 months to complete.
