Susanna Reid apologises as Patsy Palmer 'does a Piers Morgan' and storms off GMB

A stunned Susanna Reid was forced to issue an apology on Good Morning Britain as Patsy Palmer abruptly ended her interview.

The former EastEnders actress said she was "doing a Piers Morgan" after taking offence to the interview strap line which appeared at the bottom of the screen.

It read: "‘Patsy Palmer: Addicted to Wellness Guru," as she spoke to Susanna and co-host Ben Shephard about her about her healthy lifestyle in Malibu, California.

The interview was seemingly going well as they chatted to Patsy about her BBC soap star days before she moved closer to the screen and mouthed: "What’s that?"

The 48-year-old then hit out: "I'm not doing this interview, I don’t even want to do this interview because I don’t even want to look at what it says at the bottom of that screen."

She added: "So I'm just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan and just say, it’s not okay to have 'addict to wellness guru' at the bottom of the screen.

"My issues that I had years ago that were talked about me many many years ago and it’s over."

Susanna quickly responded: "I’m so sorry about that Patsy, huge apologies. It wasn’t our intention to upset you.

Patsy was unimpressed (ITV)

"That obviously was a quote from Patsy’s book and certainly wasn’t our intention to upset Patsy."

But Patsy, who played EastEnders' Bianca Jackson, didn't stick around to listen, switching off her camera before the screen went black.

Ben continued to explain: "She's promoting that, it was her journey to where she is and that’s what we mistakenly misread."

Ben and Susanna apologised (ITV)

Susanna added: "Well that was a terrible shame. Our apologies to Patsy. She’s entitled not to do the interview and we carry on..

"It wasn’t an ambush. I was really keen to talk to her and she’s got a lot to talk about. But of course it’s everybody’s right not to be on this programme as we know."
