This is the moment stunned diners at the restaurants in Bristol’s premier shopping centre watched as two urban explorers decided to climb over its famous roof.
The two unidentified men were caught on camera at around 9pm on Friday evening scaling the glass roof of Cabot Circus in the centre of Bristol.
The video shows the two appearing on the right. One attempts to scale up the frames of the glass roof, but the other notices that one line of frames is designed to be climbed with proper footholds, so they both scale that.
Hairdresser Leilah Halo McMorrow was having dinner with her son Jacob, 12, at Giraffe in Cabot Circus when the urban explorers appeared above their heads at around 9pm.
“Basically, these two absolute mad people decided it would be great fun if they went up the Cabot Circus roof that is see-through,” said Jacob.
“So then they went up there and they were climbing up on this one piece, but when they got to the top they were like ‘we don’t have anything to secure us now’, so they just went on - absolute mad lads,” he added.
The video ends with the two disappearing from sight on the other side, and it is not clear if they managed to get away, or were apprehended by security.
It it not the first time urban explorers have targeted the glass roof of Cabot Circus, either.
Back in October 2017, a group of onto the internet showing them on the glass roof and getting chased off by police and security.
Bristol Live has approached Cabot Circus for a comment and more details of any action being taken, and is awaiting a formal response.
