Stun gun disguised as a torch, amphetamines and cocaine seized from Mercedes on false plates

A stun gun disguised as a torch, amphetamines and cocaine were found in a Mercedes on false plates.

Police began following the car at around 9.30pm on Moss Bank Way, Bolton on Saturday.

Officers signalled to the driver to stop. He pulled into a takeaway following a short chase, PC Paul Ashworth said.

He said: "There was found to be quite a large amount of amphetamines, and a small amount of cocaine.

"After a further search of the vehicle we found a stun gun disguised as a torch."

A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm (section 5); driving while disqualified; and drug driving (section 5a).

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving with no insurance; failing to stop for police; and possession of a Class A drug.

The suspect remains in police custody for questioning, PC Ashworth added.

GMP Traffic posted photos of the silver Mercedes, along with the stun gun in a tweet on Sunday morning.
