Study reveals how optimistic Brits are of getting on the property ladder

Optimistic Brits think they’re more likely to buy a house in the next ten years than own a robot or win at blackjack in Vegas.

A new study asked Brits to rank how likely they felt various scenarios were to happen and revealed some interesting insights.

The survey revealed that 25-34-year-olds and those 65+ both believe they’re more likely to win at blackjack in Vegas than buy a house in the next ten years.

This doesn’t necessarily follow through with buying property in London though, with Brits believing they’re more likely to win at the slots or craps in Vegas than buy property in our capital.

Eighteen- to 24-year-olds think their chances of owning a property in London are as likely as becoming a CEO or marrying a billionaire.
Looking at other big life events the study found:

Brits were more optimistic for our royal couple of the moment than themselves as they thought it more likely that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would stay together than they themselves would meet ‘the one’.

This chart plots what scenario Brits thought was more likely (onlinecasinos.co.uk)

Londoners think meeting ‘the one’ is less likely than the rest of the UK; in fact, Londoners think they’re more likely to win at Roulette in Las Vegas than meet ‘the one’.

When it comes to life expectancy, Brits think they’re actually more likely to marry a billionaire than to live to the ripe age of 100.

Looking at Brits' fears on dying, they thought dying in a car accident to be more likely than dying in a plane crash and being killed by a shark to be least likely.

Alongside the study a game has also been created so that readers can test their perceptions against those of the Brits surveyed and also see the likelihood of some of the scenarios actually occurring.
