Studs and duds from Titans’ 30-20 loss to Panthers

The Tennessee Titans came into Bank of America Stadium looking to record their third consecutive win, but instead were defeated for the first time ever on Carolina Panthers turf, falling 30-20.

The Titans weren’t able to strike early, and struggled playing from behind as they so often do.

There were some bright areas, and some plays the team would like to do over on the loss.

Here’s a look at who shined, and who only set the the team back in Week 9.

Stud: OLB Harold Landry

Landry came up with one of the most important plays of the game, recording his first career interception deep in Titans territory to put a halt to what very well could have been a Panthers scoring drive in the first quarter.

He totaled eight tackles and one sack, along with the takeaway.

Dud: K Ryan Succop

Fans were excited to have Succop back after watching some of the blunders of the likes of Cairo Santos and Cody Parkey, but Succop looked every bit like he hadn’t seen a football field in months. He was 0-for-3 in field goal attempts, despite two successful extra point attempts.

Stud: RB Derrick Henry

Good things happen when you feed Henry the ball. For whatever reason, it took the Titans until the second half to really appreciate that on Sunday. Henry was responsible for a rushing and receiving touchdown, totaling 13 carries for 63 yards and three receptions for 36 yards.

Dud: LT Taylor Lewan

Back-to-back penalties never did anyone any favors. Penalties were a major issue for the Titans on Sunday, and Lewan was certainly a culprit. The offensive line as a whole could have had a much better performance, allowing four sacks on Tannehill.

Stud: QB Ryan Tannehill

Tannehill did make some mistakes, but he gave the Titans one more opportunity to get back into the game in the final minutes of the fourth quarter with a rushing touchdown. Unfortunately for the team, the two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Tannehill was 27-of-39 passing for 331 yards with one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown and two interceptions.
